Commonwealth Bank App Digital Wallet Concept
Sep 2015 - Mar 2016

My challenge was to define and design an unrivaled, comprehensive and innovative mobile e-wallet offering that combines CommBank's assets, and transforms the payment experience into a seamless, integrated digital platform for merchants and customers.

I oversaw desirability testing of various e-wallet concepts with participants, to understand their pain points with the dining experience and determined the ability to order food at your table, request and pay for bill on your phone, were preferred. As a team we prioritized the ability to request and pay for your bill to take into a proof of concept test. Designed, tested and launched a test Android app to test the experience at a local cafe, allowing users to prepay and approve payments directly on their phone.

This was a proof of concept, that looked to transform the payment experience for CommBank app users, into a seamless, integrated, digital platform for merchants and customers.

Concept

In order to offer greater convenience, our product will help busy , tech savvy customer’s problem of waiting in line, and being caught out without a way to pay or earn points, by giving them a way to stay in control and complete payment seamlessly. We’ll know if our product works when we see customers continuously paying through the app.

Proof of Concept

This is the app that we used in an internal pilot (2 weeks) with CommBank staff and a cafe in the office. I created a flow, designed wires and a prototype that I user tested and worked closely with a Product Manager, Visual Designer and Developer to launch this pilot.
